The heat comes in cycles.

On our way to Columbia yesterday we had some car trouble, so we spent a good 30 - 45 minutes on the side of the interstate in the 105○ heat waiting for rescue (thank you so much, Fred!!)
After a little air conditioning and some bottled waters we began to feel a little better, but the whole episode wiped my energy for the rest of the day. It made me think of the time I took the kids to the park a couple of years ago during a heat wave. It was miserable, but I'm glad I have pictures.

They are red as beets! We came home from the Tomato Art Fest the same way. Ug. August is not my favorite month around here.
