Mark Your Calendars
The Walden Market is happening again this weekend over here in East Nashville. 9am to 4 pm this Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sunday. I'll have a booth along with other awesome handmade and vintage vendors, so come on down! It's a good time to be shopping for Mother's and Father's and Easter gifts!

Mulberry Pie
Our Mulberry tree started as a pesky weed a few years ago. When it got a little bigger, Seth said he was going to get it out of the ground, but I asked him to let it stay because it provided some much needed shade on the back part of our driveway. When it got big enough, it began producing berries, enough to taste and to share with the kids...but this year, this year there are berries upon berries upon berries. The kids pick them and eat them and they pick them and save them for later. Flocks (I'm not kidding, whole flocks) of birds perch in the tree and dine. Tomorrow, I'm baking a pie. Seriously. There are enough berries for a whole pie. Maybe even two. Yum.

Sweet, Sweet Peonies
I love this season in particular for all the blooming flowers. Our hot pink peonies have begun to bloom (we still have the light pink and the white ones to go) and their sweet perfume smell and all their luscious petals sweep me off my feet whenever I step foot outdoors. Yesterday, Seth cut a large bouquet to keep in the house. There is nothing like fresh cut flowers to wake up a sleepy house! I love having them in here, although I've been sneezing some. I've promised myself that I will not go over to them and smell them up close (awful allergies) but I have to admit, it is very tempting.

Saturday... in the Park
Today is cold. Really cold comparatively. And Kaleb is sick. But before all that, early yesterday, we were blessed to get out of the house for a minute of fresh air. We scouted some garage sales (I got a wrought iron glass top table and four chairs for $25! Yay!) and went to the lake at the park. Several types of geese and ducks had already made the lake their visiting place, and there were a couple birds guarding their eggs. We also saw a turtle. I almost stepped on him, but I was glad to see him and show the boys!

The wildflowers are at it...
I hope you're not totally bored at some more flower pictures. I know...everybody takes flower pictures, but things are movin' and shakin' in the yard and I just feel like I have to document! Perhaps these photos will be useful when winter rolls 'round again.

Got a lot done
What are you growing?
Seth bought a million seeds this spring and had the kids help plant the first of them throughout the yard and in planters in the courtyard. Signs of Spring are showing up everywhere and it's so exciting! If you haven't noticed already, I've added a poll to the upper right side of this blog. What I want to know is: are you planting things this season? and if so, what?
