Blog Carnival

The blog topic for Etsy Metal this month is to tell about other creative things we do besides jewelry. Right now, my main creative mission is grow this baby, but I do like to work with my hands. In fact I went to school for fine art.
Unfortunately almost all of my art work has been stashed away in the deep recesses of our attic for the last decade. But I did manage to round up one sketchbook from college. It's all pretty academic, but looking through these sketches brought back a lot of memories.

I also used to do a lot of printing. I loved lino-cuts and etching. I looked for some of my etching plates, but couldn't find any - which means they're in the attic with all of my lino-cuts and all the actual prints. The only cut I could find was the one pictured above, and it's pretty small, so that's probably why I was able to stash it in a drawer. I couldn't find any of the actual prints of it though, so you'll just have to use your imagination to picture it backwards and the lights and darks reversed.
And besides drawing and painting etc, and making babies and jewelry, I also make dinner, bird houses, and curtains: here, here and here. Making things makes me happy.

Here are some other people on the Etsy Metal team who want to show you what they make:
