Doll-pin Dolls

Did you ever play with doll-pins?
My grandma used them to hang her laundry, so whenever I visited her house I would make them into dolls with flowy dresses made from tissues (Grandma always had different colored Kleenexes.)
I've seen some cool activities for toddlers on the internet using doll-pins, so I decided to buy some for Estelle.

(I thought a Sharpie would be perfect for the job, however, they bleed a little too much.
Ball point pens and colored pencils work much better. I'd love to try paint pens next.)

We made a few of them into dolls. I wish I had more time to put details into them. If I had a lot of time, I would make tons of outfits for them. It's so much fun.

The boys are even liking making dolls (action figures) out of them.
Estelle on the other hand, couldn't care less if they are plain wood or all decorated up. Boo. I'm sure the time will come, though.

I would love to see examples of other decorated doll pins to get more ideas. I saw some owls on Pinterest, but I can't find them again!

Edited to add: I just found the owls. Look here.
And look at these dolls!!!

I got them in the craft section at Walmart. But they sell them at Joanne's, Hobby Lobby and Micheal's,too.
