Our school year has officially begun. I was going to wait to show you our completed work space until I finished both of the chairs (one is halfway done) but I decided to go ahead and show you the space because I don't know if it will be this organized again... ha! I'll show the chairs at a later date.
So, this is a picture from a couple years ago (when I was pregnant with Estelle) at Christmas. It is serving as my "before" picture. You can see that far wall with computer. That is what this wall looked like for years. Boring.
Before:
And this is what it looks like now.
After:
Yay! It's not perfect, but I love it ever so much more. We got this great desk and I painted it turquoise. It's so cheerful. Right now, I have drawing paper on the side of it for Estelle to draw on (she was coloring all over my new paint job,) but since it's metal. it will eventually be a great little magnet board for the kids.
I also purchased this fantastic wooden sign to put above the window (I bought it unfinished and painted it white myself.) It's from a sweet company of a dear girl who lives in Maine, with whom I've become online friends. She is quite special and her store, 163 Design Company is adorable and has the cutest handmade stuff!
She even included this super cute wooden chalkboard note in my package. This is going to find it's way to somewhere special in my house. This is her blog. And this is her store.
All in all, I am happy with our space and with how the way school is going so far (today is our 4th school day.) I'm sure I'll post more about that in the future. Now, on to teaching. My kids are currently standing in a line waiting to show me their completed work... gotta go!
Ta ta for now!
P.s. There some other really great homeschool spaces on this blog: http://www.ihomeschoolnetwork.com/nbts-blog-hop-school-room-week/ Just in case you were needing some inspiration.
