A Treat

I am home today with two sick kiddos, so I thought we all needed a little treat. I baked them some banana bread from the best banana bread recipe I have ever tried. It is from my mother's recipe files. Yum!

Sour Cream Banana Bread

3/4 cup butter
3 cups sugar
3 eggs
6 mashed bananas
4 & 1/2 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and bananas, mixing until blended. Fold in flour and then remaining ingredients in the order listed. Pour into two greased loaf pans and bake at 300 degrees for one hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean. cool on wire rack.

This bread is especially good with cream cheese!

Oh I can't wait to try this! We went to Australia a few summers ago and there was a place that had the BEST banana bread. I have not had good banana bread since, so I am hopeful this recipe will be the one!!! :)
