school's out for summer

My children are so precious, but this is the last week of school and I'm scared! Don't get me wrong, I still have that feeling of excitment probably left over from my school days when summer hits, and I relish the idea of not having to pack lunches or find outfits that "look" clean in the morning after the boys have already gotten dressed in something they pulled out of the bottom of the dirty clothes stack in their rooms that doesn't even match. And I love the idea of spending some extra quality time with the loves of my life, but what to do with the them during all the other times? We have nothing planned for summer, and we are on a tight budget, so everything we do has to be VERY creative. Any ideas?

You may want to sign up for emails from The Frist Center. I used to get them, and every once in a while they have free days. Also, every Sat they have free kid events. See here:

(No I don't know how to do links in comments!) I'll let you know if I think of others...

My mom would save the heels of loaves of bread in the freezer for a while and then when we had enough, we would take them to Centennial Park and feed the ducks.
