I'm still here!

I've been a bad, bad blogger. I'm sorry, but I am still at my mom's. I finally decided to upload some of the pictures on my camera to my dad's computer so I could do a new blog. Don't erase me off of your links just yet! I'm going home tonight, so future posts will be more regular, I promise! Here's a few pics from Thanksgiving at Grandma's...

Update

Well, our floors are still not finished so I am staying with my mother. I've been trying to think of something that I can blog about from here, but being away from my own computer and pictures makes it hard. I do, however, have a few new pieces in the shop, so you can pop by there and take a looksee...

See You Soon!

We are going out of town for the holiday and while we are gone, the floors in the whole front part of the house are getting redone!

So four rooms worth of stuff is crammed into the kitchen and playroom. When we get back we'll have a lot of work to do to reorganize all of our stuff, but at least ours floors will look brand new! See you next week!

Thanksgiving

Things I am thankful for (and other than the first few, they are not in order.)
1. Jesus.
2. His preserved words.
3. That my husband promised to live with me for my whole life, no matter what.
4. That Kaleb likes to listen to me read...out loud

5. That Elijah makes me little tiny paper dolls.
6. That Emet likes to give kisses.
7. My friends who still like me even though I don't call them.
8. This blog that makes me talk in complete sentences. (except when I'm doing lists)
9. My parents who love me even though I am not perfect.
10.My siblings, without whom I would not have turned out nearly as cool.

11.New life.
12.My grandparents who are my example for generosity.
13.That I have been allowed to do something that I love for a job.
14.That my house is still standing, no one has ever taken it away from us, it has increased in value and we are beginning to be able to realize some of the dreams that we have had to fix it up.
15. That my kids got into magnet schools right down the street.
16. For the women at Community Bible Study.

That's not all I'm thankful for, of course, but I thought I'd quit boring you...

Silly Me

So, I have to write my first retraction. I said earlier that my friend Amy had put St. Vincent on a mix she made me (I have since deleted that sentence.) Well, I really do like St. Vincent aka Annie Clark, but that wasn't who she put on the album. And I was wondering why I couldn't find the same songs! I'm such a dork...

So, the person that I really meant to blog about is Brooke Waggoner. Listen here or here.

David's New Site

I know I have posted about David before, but he just opened his new website, davidarms.com, and I am blown away by his work yet again. His site is such a pleasure to browse through, with soothing music and powerful images. Go there and experience it for yourself.

Funny

Brian Regan is such a goofball comedian, but he can be very funny. If you like this clip try his "doctor" bit next, or any thing from his "I walked on the Moon" performance.

Play A Game, Give some Food

Jenny posted this link, saying that it was addictive, and it is. But I don't feel bad playing for a while because by doing it I donated 1000 grains of rice to a third world country! And I sharpened my vocab, although I could never get past level 40. Guess I need to go play some more!

New Again

I got an email with a link to this video. It's a little longer than most (about 6 minutes) but worth watching. Through the coarse of it I felt my heart break and then be put back together perfectly again.

Cock-a-doodle-doo!

Elijah was in his first play today. He played the part of Cocky Locky in "Henny Penny and the Sky is Falling". It was very cute and he remembered his lines! Yeay Elijah!

Rosy Nashville

I took this shot at sunset while sitting at a stop light. I liked it, so I thought I would share.

The Puppies Are Here!

The puppies were born last night. Twiggy had them under the deck and the boys got under there and put them all in a laundry basket to bring them inside. She had ten babies but nine survived. NINE! Can you imagine? I am listening to all their little cries right now. Fortunately I was able to go upstairs to sleep last night because I know they didn't stop crying all night. As soon as some of them are satisfied, there are still more mouths to feed! Poor Twiggy. We might have to start helping her feed them. But all the crying aside, they're adorable little pups!

Good Buy

I just bought this Jill Bliss notecard book from Beklina. I love to send cards, and it's on sale! Shipping is free!

Autumn Days

It has finally begun to feel like fall to me, and I have enjoyed being outside with my boys. That gorgeous orange tree (above) is right past the fence in perfect view of our backyard. Oh, and our dogs, Fisher and Twiggy, are going to be proud parents. We're having puppies!

Custom Jewelry Update

I have been trying to update my jewelry catalog today, and also get all the pricing and tagging done for my home show on Wednesday. To see a collection of my work click on the pictures to the right under the heading "Jewelry Catalog". I can recreate almost anything that has been sold, and I can currently take about 10 more custom orders to be ready before Christmas. If you are interested in anything, leave me a comment or email me at sethconley@ bellsouth.net.

Roller Party

We spent the day today at the roller skating rink for our friend's daughter's birthday party. It was the boys first time to skate, and Kaleb has now declared that he will have his next birthday party there. I had a great time pushing the baby in the stroller around and around the rink. He fell asleep and I got a great workout.

Halloween Thoughts

I have been trying to use everyday things and happenings to talk to my kids about who God is, and to show them how truth is applicable in their lives. In Deuteronomy 6, it says to talk about God's commandments when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. I have asked Him "How do I go about doing this, so that my kids can understand?" and God has been so faithful to provide pictures and analogies that come in our everyday lives.
I have been thinking about some of the symbols that we incorporate on Halloween, especially the jack-o-lantern. My children have made some jack-o-lanterns for crafts at school, which has given me the perfect opportunity to tell them about how Jesus shines a light out of them because he lives in their hearts. "For God, who said,"Let light shine out of the darkness." made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." 2 Cor. 4:6
I have also been thinking about all those children who go door to door searching for good treats to satisfy their sweet tooth, and how we all tend to go around looking for that thing that will satisfy us. My children are very familiar with the feeling of being "bored" and desiring something to do to make that feeling go away. So I have reminded them of that feeling as I explained that everyone feels those feelings, and that Jesus is the one who satisfies all of our deepest sweet teeth. "Praise the Lord...who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles." Psalm 103:5
I have reminded them that on Halloween, as children go searching for sweet satisfaction, that we are a bright light of Jesus, handing out love to everyone.

Speaking of sweet teeth, Emet apparently has a mouthful of them. He did not want to show off his Elmo costume, but once he realized that there was candy involved he became so bold as to bang on the door of an absent homeowner and throw a fit on the front porch because we had to leave without receiving any goodies. Then he ate a Hershey's kiss when I wasn't looking, tin foil wrapper and all. Great. That's what I get for letting Mimi give him M&M'S this early in his life!
